I decided to start picking one hit a week as the Hit of the Week. The week will run from midnight of Saturday to midnight the following Friday. I think I said the right.

The Hit of the week, this week is the third hit on this bill. It is moving pretty good too. I am wondering where it will show up next. I believe this is not the last time this bill will check in.

Hit On A 1963B Series Bill

I like entering older bills onto Where's George?, to see if they get good hits. This morning, I got a hit on a 1963B series bill that I entered in September of this year. I do not have many hits of the older bills I guess it is because there is so few of them. I only have two 1963B entered on Where's George? this hit gives me a 50 percent hit rate for 1963B series bills.

Two Hits On The Fourth Of July

I am happy to report that I got two hits on the Fourth of July. The first hit was on a ten dollar bill I used this weekend. The second hit was on a dollar bill I entered over ten years ago. The hit on it was for 8 Years, 332 Days, 21 Hours, and 3 Minutes and I think that is my new longest sleeper. A sleeper is a bill that is hit that was entered or hit a long time ago. I am glad to see some of my old bills are still out there. I hope to see more hits soon both short and long sleeper hits.

Today, I got some money out of the ATM to prepare for an appointment that I have tomorrow. I was happy to see a Where's George stamp on one of the bills. My hit is the second hit on the bills, that is the third entry. Here is the report.

Starting To Post Here Again

While it has been over a year since my last post on this blog. I have decided to start posting again. Right now I have limited access to the internet due to not having a computer of my own at this time. I will post when I can about my hits and other Where's George? related things.

Right now I want to share this hit that I got on a twenty recently. I have two hits on this bill that I entered five years ago. The first hit was three years after I entered it. I often wonder how many of my bills are still out there.

What I enjoyed the most about this bill is that it made in across the country. I hope it is not the last time I get a hit on this bill. May my wait be shorter on the third hit.

Montana Falls

I got home tonight to find out that I got my first hit it Montana. I have seven more states to go for 50 State Bingo. I hope the other states comes quickly. Another thing about this hit it was the first hit from the bills I entered in March of this year.

Ten years ago my adventure begun with Where's George?. I have made several friends over the years in the forums and at gatherings. I learned about many places for the hits that I got over the last ten years. I enjoy looking up information of the places where I get hits. I will try to do a better job at posting things here on this Blog. Location Highlights, Stat updates, and many other Where's George related things.

I hope you will check out my profile on Where's George? to read about how I started Georging and see my hit maps. I glad to say at this point I have entered 5,788 bills, 914 hits, and found 115 wilds. I ranked 62th in the state of North Carolina and rank 2,359th in the nationwide ranking with the George Score of 976.23. Hit have been slow coming in here lately but I hope to start getting a lot more since a have entered over 1,300 bills this year.

Boy, I have been slacking on is Blog. I am even a couple days late of posting this post. On Tuesday, I received the 900th hit on Where's George? I have got over a hit hits this years. Here in the last couple weeks the hits have slowed coming in. I hope that the pace the hit come in starts picking up soon. I will try to do a better drive now here at posting my Where's George? news and tips here now.

Abe Back In The States

Back in February, I took a trip to the Philippines and used several marked bills while there. Yesterday, I got a hit on a bill that I entered while in the Philippines from Florida. This is my second hit from the bills I used on the trip. The first was a hit in South Korea. I hope to get more hits off the trip and hoping for some good international hits.

Oregon Becomes My 42nd State

Thursday, I got my first hit in the great state of Oregon. This leaves we only eight more states for 50 state bingo.

Oregon is my second new state for this year. The other state was Idaho. I have to get hits in Delaware, Hawaii , Kansas, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, and South Dakota to get my 50 state bingo. I also need to get in Washington, DC.

Yesterday, all of us, who attended the gathering at Mike's on Main in Hendersonville, North Carolina had a great time. I was glad to see everyone that made it.

We trade bills, told Where's George stories, and enjoy great food and ice cream. This was my third gathering. As I said before, this gathering was one of the monthly gathering we are setting up in Western North Carolina. I can not wait for the hits from the bills used and traded at the gathering.

The next gathering will be in August. At this time, I think I will not be able to make it due to money being so tight at this time. Of course, I will post about it here.

Lunch at Mike's Chuckwagon

Today I eat lunch at Mike's Chuckwagon at Green's Six Oaks in Tuxedo, North Carolina. The cheeseburger I got there was good. I paid with some stamped bills. I saw a customer after we get the some of bills that used to pay for my lunch. Mike's Chuckwagon needed change so he sold the bills back to them. At first, I did not like to see that happen but then I thought about the construction workers and the summer camps in the area. The guy selling the bills back just increase the bills going to other places in this great country. Of course, tomorrow Mike's Chuckwagon and Green's Six Oaks are having a Fourth of July party ending with fireworks. I plan on being there with some stamped bills to spread around. I hope to get some good hits off the bills I spend over this weekend.

WNC Gathering In Hendersonville, NC

A stealth bill is a bill that is entered into Where's Gearge but is not stamped or marked with Where's George. Now I have 9 more states to go for 50 state bingo. This morning, I received my 75th hit in Buncombe County, North Carolina. This hit is also my 45th hit in the city of Asheville which is the county seat. Asheville is the largest city in Western North Carolina.

I post messages most in the South Eastern USA Forum on Where's George?. When people in the forum have not gotten a hit is a while they ask for a Southern Sigh. This is how Georgers complain about a dry spell in the regional forums. Each region calls it something different.

Midwest USA = Midwest Moan

North East/ Mid Atlantic USA = Northeast Nag

South Eastern USA = Southern Sigh

Western USA = Western Whine

It works really well. On Saturday, I posted a message saying that I have not got a hit is six days and needed a hit. I received a Southern Sigh from my fellow Georger in the Southern Forum. Will early Sunday morning I received this hit.

Helping With Scientific Studies

Where's George has been used by many people to setup models to study how a disease could potentially spread. As with this article form Yahoo! News called 'Worst Case' Scenario for Flu Estimated from May 1, 2009, Where's George is cited as a resource for a study. I am glad that a hobby that I enjoy a great deal is being used to help people.

Hit On One Of My Filipino Bills

I have some happy today to see that I got a hit on one of the bills I used while I was in the Philippines. I believe my five dollar bill got hit in South Korea by two soldiers in the United States Army station at Camp Hovey.

The Hit

I am sure this is the first of many international hit that I will get from the bill that I used in the Philippines. I hope that I get at least one hit in the Philippines from these bills.

With the traveling distance of 6,957 miles, I am sure this is my farthest traveled bill to date. This is only my third international hit.

It is always fun to receive direct hits. I have got a few direct hits before but it has been awhile. A direct hit is when someone hits a bill and in the user notes says they got the bills from the same place that you spend the bills.

Since I have TWO bills from this location suspect someone in area is originating them. Finding TWO bills in one location can't be coincidence. ~ User note from Hit#808

I response to this user's note. I have seen were two or more bills entered by the same person traveled together for a couple hits. This is rare but it does happen. It is interesting seeing how money travels.

Georging in the Philippines

I just got back from a trip to the Philippines last week. I took and also entered bills while in the Philippines. I hope to get some international hits from the bills I used while in the Philippines.

I exchanged the bills for pesos at several places around Quezon City. The only problem I had with exchanging my marked Where's George bills was at the SM mall in Baguio City. In Quezon City, The only problem I had was with a non-Where's George bill. In fact, they took my Where's George bills and handed the other marked bill back.

The biggest problem with Georging in the Philippines is that they have a clean money laws were it is illegal to mark on the Filipino Peso. Some Money Exchanges use the policy on all money. I found that if one will not get the bill another one will.

January was a good month for my Georging. I got 7 hits and entered 403 bills which increase my George Score by 2.41. I moved up in rank by 42 places in the whole site standing. I only moved up one place in the state of North Carolina.

In February, with me entering more of bills and as they get out and about I hope to see a increase in hits. With my upcoming trip to the Philippines I hope to get a few international hits. My rank increase in February will rely more of the number of hits I get since I not going to be able to enter many bills for the last half of February due to my trip.

I was happy to get on my computer today after going shopping for supplies for the house and working outside in the cold to found that I got a hit today. Today's hit is Hit #770 which bring me up to 641 bills with hits. Here are some other facts about this hit.

Today I received Hit #769. It was a hit on a five dollar bill in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This is my second hit from Fayetteville and third hit from Cumberland County.

This is only my second hit for the year 2009. I gotten a hit on a twenty and a five. Many Georgers say that twenties and fives do not get as many hits as ones. My hit rate on both are just under what my hit rate for ones are right now, as you can see below.

Location Spotlight: Canton, New York

Hit #768 can from Canton, New York. Canton is located on the Grasse River between Adirondack foothills and the St. Lawrence River Valley. It is the county seat for Saint Lawrence County, New York. The population of Canton is 8,000 and grows up to 11,500 when the colleges students are in class.

St. Lawrence University and the State University College of Technology at Canton make their home there. St. Lawrence University is private liberal arts college founded in 1856. The State University College of Technology at Canton is a modern four and two-year state college founded 1906.

The first settlement in Canton has in 1800 by Daniel Harrington. The village incorporated on May 14, 1845. The first industries were lumbering and dairy farming. Canton's other largest employers other then the colleges are Kraft Foods and Corning Glass.

I got my first hit of 2009 today. Someone in Canton, New York entered a twenty dollar bill the I entered four years old today on Where's George?. Today's hit was the second hit on the bill. This hit is Hit #768 to me and it also brings my George Score for to 955.05. I will post some information about the location of my hit today tomorrow and I do some research. My 100th Wild

This morning as I was entering some bills that were in the cash drawer at work I notice that I hit someone else's bill. When you hit some else's bill that bill is called a wild. My 100th wild was first enter by Marty in Mobile, Alabama, 1 Year, 101 Days, 14 Hours, and 56 Minutes before I entered the bill. Marty is ranked fifth place in Alabama right now. This is also my fourth wild so far in 2009.

I am still waiting for my first hit in 2009. I looked to see how many hits I got from bills that I hit. Nineteen of my wilds have gotten hits after I hit them with the total of 22 hits. So that is a 19% hit rate and 22% slugging rate. That is better then my rate on bill as a whole at this time, but I have recently entered a lot of bills so my hit rate has went down a great deal. I am sure that soon I will be receiving hits on the bills that I have recently entered.

How I Got Started

I first read about Where's George? in the Times-News. I thought it was interesting being able to track where the money in my pocket goes next. So, I decided to check the web site out. I entered my First Bill on November 14, 1999. I have yet to get a hit on that bill. Most likely since it was a five and I handwritten the website on it I will not get a hit on it. Even if it is still out there somewhere. While on January 18, 2000, I got my first hit, two months and four days after I entered my first bill. Just for a little fun the bill I entered closes to my first bill that received a hit was the eleventh bill. I entered it on November 16, 1999 my third day Georging. It was hit on May 28, 2000 becoming my 38th hit. That is 193 Days, 18 Hours, and 24 Minutes after I entered it. If you are still waiting for your first hit continue entering bills and the hits will come.

Welcome to my new Blog. I wanted to start a Blog on my favorite hobby of tacking my money with Where's George. I set this Blog up this morning and of course this is my first post to the Blog. I started georging, as we Georgers call it on November 14,1999.
